Alternative materials for a part and proposing that sealing washers be fitted to inlet valves only.

Although they do the job they are very
fiddling to fit and Mx.{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} is of the opinion that an alternative
material, fibre or soft alum would be more suitable, and
which he is going to try out.

In the meantime, we will instruct a number
of sets of the Neoprene washer scheme for other experimental
cars.

In view of the fact that occasional sticking
is experienced on the exhaust valves and that almost all the
oil goes down the inlet valves, we propose that the sealing
washers should be fitted to the inlet valves only.
