Oil. Cons. 7 pints. Petrol was handled in 5 gal. churns and filled through a large funnel with fine gause. filter. Remained OK throughout practice runs and the race. Bonnet. Single straps each side were fitted in place of original form. The N.S. panel was cut-out to receive oil gun if necessary, in filler without lifting bonnet. Thermometer. Tubing mounted as flexible as possible between dash and Cyl. head. (to avoid fracture, re. standard method of fixing). Brakes. No adjustments made during race. N.B. At finish O.S.R. drum full of axle oil. Ignition tower. Leads and connections wrapped round with oil silk (containing hole for breather) as protection from water thrown up from wheels on lock & through louvres. | ||
