J.III STEERING.

The steering of this car has always been a bad feature with regard to both selectivity and road shocks. Although this fault was considerably improved when the efficient shock dampers were fitted, the steering has still been below the standard of an average 25HP.

We have recently fitted this car with a 20HP. front axle G.53649. The 20HP. axle has 4.5° transverse pivot lean where the J.III axle has only 1°.

With the 20HP. axle the steering is very definitely superior. There is now no objection to road shocks and the selectivity is improved.

The 20HP. axle has raised the front of the car one inch, it has of course no axle control.

We should like a design for a J.III front axle in which the transverse pivot lean is increased at least to that of the 20HP. cars.
