-4- What are the mechanical settings for the carburetter jets? For 'Phantom' we give "two and a half turns for the high speed jet, and a little over three-quarters of a turn for the low speed jet". What should be stated as being a reasonable petrol consumption? For the 'Phantom' we mention 14 MPG "on dry level roads with a car of average weight and average load at reasonable touring speed". Handwritten: 12. M.P.G. What is mechanical setting for the starting carburetter needle valve? For the 'Phantom' we give one-quarter to three-eights of a turn. Handwritten: 1/3 Turn from jam turn The starter carb. is very sensitive and should not be moved more than 1/8 turn each way. BRAKE ADJUSTMENT. Movement of cables to cause hand-applied brake shoes just to touch brake drums from the "off" position and corresponding movement of hand brake lever. (Phantom - 3/4" and third notch).
