-2- Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}9/KW.21.9.36. Re 25 HP. steerings of the new type, all that we say about the new steering is that there is no reason why it should be any better or worse than the old worm and nut type for road shocks if it is made correctly. We know that the 20/25 always has and always will have steering shocks until it gets a different front end to the motor car. Under Continental conditions there may be something about the new steering which we cannot reproduce here, and if you try 22-G-V steering and say that it is nothing like as good as one of the old type RR. worm and nut, then we will sit up and take notice. Anyhow, Hancock will be coming out very shortly and he will be able to go over the whole matter with you. We have sent you out some ball pads to increase the friction on the Ph.III cross steering tube because it is not easy to do this with the existing pieces.
