X Expl. Dept. Ha/Ory.13/MJ. November 12th.1931. M.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} Olley Esq., Cadillac Motor Car Co., Detroit, Michigan, U.S.A. Dear Mr. Olley, Will you let us have your views on the use of dynamic balancing machines for such components as crankshafts and flywheels. Do General Motors include dynamic balancing in their production testing? We, of course, balance our crankshafts statically, but are considering whether dynamic out of balance is the cause of one engine being rougher than another. It would be a great help to us if you would tell us about the use of such machines, and in the event of your recommending their use for production or experiment which you consider to be the best for our purpose. Yours faithfully, For Rolls-Royce Ltd. | ||
