Referring to R5/M21.11.23., the position in regard
to the improvements you enumerate in connection with the 40/50
car is, that when EAC.11. was substituted for the 40/50,
we arranged to bring in the whole of the new proposals.

In regard to the fact that the parts are not
standardised, the arrangement was that three EAC.11. cars were
to run in France for 10,000 miles to standardise the other
new parts, and therefore at the same time the parts now under
discussion would have been similarly standardised by the
10,000 mile run and would have been set out on the list shewing
precisely how EAC.11. cars which had done the running differed
from standard.

Since EAC.11. appears to have been pushed back it
will be necessary for Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} to at once issue standardisation sheets
for all the parts mentioned on R5/M21.11.23, all of which have,
of course, received consideration, and so far as the D.O. is
concerned, we have drawings for all the parts in question, all
that we lack is the standardisation sheet.

The above generally sums up the position. There
is one exception, namely, the Dynamo. We have a scheme pract-
ically complete for running the EAC.1. Dynamo as a belt driven
type in place of the Lucas. There appear, however, to be
certain points in connection with the Dynamo which have not
