"The pump that so far has not failed is slightly different from the other two in respect of the spring blade contact. The endof the blade holding the contact point is spread out having two small rivets instead of the single contact rivet. The contact blade is stiffer and the action of the mechanism is more definite".

This is the second out of three of these petrol pumps we have been running which have failed, and therefore at the moment their reputation is somewhat impaired. Our own experience with fibre is that it is very unreliable material, and we have always had better results with moulded material such as bakelite.

If you can send two replacement parts to -
Mr.G.W.Hancock, c/o Hotel de France, Chateauroux, Indre, France - we will let you have the defective articles as soon as they come to hand.

The car with the S.U. carburetters will be ready for you at the end of this week. Perhaps you would prefer to wait after Easter before starting this work.

We have taken particular care to reproduce the final controls and also the exhaust system, so that you can get an idea of the hot-spot.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED.
