Clearance (hot) last check prior to failure = .006". V.C.M. sleeve Brinell No.739. Failure occurred after 1 hr. 28 mins. at 3030 RPM. i.e. 2300 lbs/sq.in. TYPE OF FAILURE. Solid seizure without warning. The bearing appeared to have numerous hard spots on its surface, which had scored the sleeve, finally resulting in total seizure taking place.
