Dear Sirs,

We thank you for your enquiry and letters of the 1st instant regarding quotation for 155 Silentbloc assemblies to your drawing G.84361.

We must apologise for not replying earlier, but we are finding very considerable difficulty in the manufacture of these assemblies due to the fact that the inner and outer members are of very thin section, and it has been found impossible to prevent them from distorting during assembly.

We have been endeavouring to get over this difficulty, but, unfortunately, have not entirely succeeded.

This matter forms the subject of your letter of the 1st inst., ref. Roy{Sir Henry Royce}/JT.14/LW.

We are sending you to-day 35 more of these assemblies, and we shall be glad if you will kindly examine them and let us know whether they will suit your requirements, as unless the outside diameter is increased so that we can use thicker inner and outer members, we are afraid that we cannot improve on the above delivery.

We have found it necessary to grind these on the outside after assembly.

Any further orders we would be willing to execute at the same price as previously, i.e., 9/10d. each nett.

Yours faithfully,
(Sgd.) W.L. Harris,
