To RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} X 340 HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Std.15/JH. 27.3.36. Phantom III Steam Escape Pipe. We wish to try a steam escape pipe leading off from a different place in the top tank on the radiator of 33-EX. Will you therefore, remove the radiator from 33-EX next time it is in the shop and fit an escape pipe on the lines of the attached sketch i.e. leading from above the colorstat to the near side rear face of top tank. A flange should be fitted as with the standard escape pipe system so that the external escape pipe can be fitted on in the usual manner. At the same time, will you remove the system of baffles (to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}2183) which is fitted inside this top tank. We wish to try this scheme with a view to dispensing with the complicated steam valve at present used. HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Etd. | ||
