Dear Dick,

Replying to your letter of the 19th re shock absorber loads, I enclose an explanation of how you can increase the governor load to give you more damping.

Personally I consider that in the maximum damping position the Bentley is quite uncomfortable enough without making matters worse by pushing up the shock absorber load. If you want to carry a lot of luggage and two passengers in the rear seats, the best solution is to have your rear springs changed for some 50 lbs. stronger. This makes all the difference, and is hardly so uncomfortable as hard shock absorbers.

However, you can easily try the increased damping and form your own conclusions.

Yours sincerely,
