X8664. Examination and Test
of Higher-Output Dynamo H.O1
After 10,000 Miles Test.

This dynamo was fitted to car 12EX on 25-9-28 and had, on being removed, travelled 10,521 miles. Following are the results of the examination and test.
Tested on the AC mains, the insulation was found to be quite O.K.
The brushes appeared to be in good condition although the surfaces were dull due to oil getting on to the commutator. Apart from this, however, there were no signs of blackening. Brush wear was as follows:-

The commutator was slightly blackened along the trailing edges of some of the segments, but most of the deposit on the segment was in the form of a
