X3449 Expl. Dept. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rn.{Mr Robinson}6/MJ. Sept.5th,1930. Messrs. Stothert & Pitt, Ltd., Engineers, BATH. Dear Sirs, We have now tested the pump which you lent to us. As we explained to your representative, we were mainly interested in the dry suction lift of this type of pump. Our results indicate that the sample you submitted to us is not particularly good in this respect and is, in fact, inferior to the Gear type pumps we are at present using. We are therefore returning it to you. Perhaps the test was not altogether fair because the pump was not designed with this view. Should you wish to submit any further model to us we should be pleased to test it. Yours faithfully, For Rolls-Royce Ltd. | ||
