New square base ignition coil, enclosing blueprints for new parts and discussing material alterations.

| EXPERIMENTAL X4079 To RHG. C. EFC. BY/Ds1/ML.6.3.23. RE IGNITION COIL - X.4079.b. Now that R.{Sir Henry Royce} has agreed to use the Square Base Coil and 1/4" longer for the Wheelcase position, will you please receive herewith one blueprint of the following new parts:- D.51023 - Coil Case. (X) D.51024 - Arrangement of Coil and L.O.P. D.51025 - Arrangement of Core. D.51026 - Section of Winding. The remainder of the parts have already been issued to you previously. With regard to alteration No. 1111/D to D.50434/5, increasing the outside diameter, the smaller diameter pieces can be used until such time as the new moulds are ready. Also, we requested Wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead} to obtain 100 yards of Oil Paper from Messrs. Attwaters for the secondary winding of these coils two weeks ago. When this comes along, will you kindly put 3 coils in hand for EFC. to test. (X). One print extra for Mr Brock. BY/Ds. | ||
