running on same for about half a minute; the breakdown being notified by the distinct sound of sparks passing inside the coil.
It will be remembered that this coil was returned to us 5.2.23 as being faulty, but was tested and found to be OK with the exception of a crack in the case which was subsequently repaired. The coil was not put through the open circuit test on that occasion.
Crack found in bakelite coil end piece accounted for breakdown.
