NOTES ON WIRING It is important in installing Marchal headlamps to see that the wiring on the car is of sufficient cross section so as not to cause a loss higher than 0.2 volt between voltage at the terminal battery and at headlamp terminals. In some cases in a twin cable the ends can be joined together and made to carry the current of one bulb thus obtaining double cross section: we can supply our own French cable of large carrying capacity impregnated in insulating varnish and impermeable to water or oil, to suit all requirements, prices 5d. or 6d. a yard. On American cars where a circuit breaker is employed to safeguard against short circuits, it is advisable to fit in multiple with it a small fuse box so as to shunt the current across it and eliminate the resistance of the spring contacts and of the solenoid winding: our 3-way fuse box retailing at 4/6 would serve the purpose and the three terminals could be bridged together on each side so that the carrying capacity would be that of the three fuses in multiple.
