Steering Wobbles. We are in receipt of Mr. Royce's memo on this matter and you ask for my remarks. First of all, I note that my original memo on the steering of Mr. Whiteley's car has not been put before Mr. Royce. Only the customer's complaint as to the charge has reached him. Consequently Mr. Royce is not informed of the various tests tried with this car. I attach copy of my original memo, which states that after making all the known adjustments we did certain other things, and finally sent out the car with a heavy forward lean of the pivots, which is entirely incorrect. To this extent, therefore, we are able to agree that low speed wobbles may be cured by altering pivot lean. But this is not what Mr. Royce means. Our memo to the works produced a recom-mendation that a new H series side steering tube be fitted with stronger spring, and one was prepared and sent to us. We gather from a memo of Mr. Chandler's of the 11th February with reference to 2025E that This sheet must be filed with the correspondence to which it refers. | ||
