"Goshawk 11" - Laminated Road Springs. I confirm mine Wd {Mr Wood / Mr Whitehead} 1/NJ11.4.22 and give you below copy of a further letter from Firths, dated 11th inst. ref.- MF/WEW:- "Further to our letter of yesterday's date in which "we informed you that we were despatching 2 sets of "Laminated Springs, we now have pleasure in enclosing you "a copy of the Load Tests taken on each of these Springs, "which will enable you to pair them off in whatever way "you think best. "Springs Nos. R.1 and R.2 have come out extraordinarily "close to the required load when flat, Nos. R.3 and R.4 "being slightly lower. This difference between the two "loads could easily be rectified. The Front Springs are "all slightly on the low side, but are very similar to one "another, and these again could easily be altered. "As stated in our letter of yesterday we are very "anxious to know the results of the Bumping Tests, especially "as we are not quite satisfied with the fracture of the "sample piece which went through the same treatment as these "springs." Attached hereto is copy of the Table of Loadings mentioned in the above letter. Wd {Mr Wood / Mr Whitehead} Table att. | ||
