"Goshawk 11" - Laminated Road Springs.

I confirm mine Wd {Mr Wood / Mr Whitehead} 3/NJ3.4.22 and give you below copy of a letter from Thos. Firth & Sons Ltd. dated 10th inst. ref.- JWF/AC:-

"We now have pleasure in informing you that we have completed two complete sets of Laminated Springs in our Chrome Vanadium Steel, and are forwarding you these tomorrow. We should be much obliged if you would please have these fixed on your bumping machine and thoroughly tested as soon as possible.

We are very anxious to know the results of these tests, as from an examination of a sample piece of steel which we have broken we think it only fair to tell you that we are not altogether satisfied that we have obtained the best type of structure, but of course, until the springs actually do break we are unable to see exactly what the structure is, and as to its effect on the life of the spring."

Will OO/Dn. please see that the two complete sets of springs are handed to EP. {G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} immediately same come to hand.
