646? Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Les.5/JH. 18th March, 1938. The English Steel Corporation, Vickers Works, SHEFFIELD. For the attention of Mr. Webster. Dear Sirs, We are wanting to check over carefully our formula for front suspension coil springs. I should be very grateful therefore if you could measure accurately the load every .250" of deflection from free to choc length for one pair of springs you are producing to GW.1981/2. I should then like you to send me the figures and mark the actual springs measured for my attention. I am sorry to trouble you over this, but our new testing machine has not yet arrived and I therefore feel that your figures will be more accurate. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
