MINUTES OF CONFERENCE AT DERBY TO DISCUSS POSITION OF 3½ LITRE BENTLEY CHASSIS ON WEDNESDAY, MAY 24/1933. Present:- Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} Sft.{Mr Swift} RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} Hy.{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer} Minute No. 1. Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} said the Conference had been called to discuss the present position of work in connection with the 15 Bentley chassis which are being pushed forward with a view to completion about the end of July. Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} said he had the impression that about 15% of the total still required some attention, and decisions made to finish off and clear for production. Sft.{Mr Swift} reported that the work on the 15 chassis was in a very healthy state but mentioned the following sections as still requiring clearance:- (1) Exhaust Fittings. (By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} said this is in his hands. Will finish next week.) (2) Undersheets. (Will not be released until RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} has tried out sample set. Should be clear in about one week. RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} will show first set to Sft.{Mr Swift} who will go on as far as possible without drawings.) (3) Oil Pipes & Fittings. (By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} said now in Sft{Mr Swift}'s hands and no modifications are required.) (4) Spare Wheel Carrier (side). (By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} will issue instructions for bumping test. Very few of these will be required and most likely none at all on the first 15.) (5) Electrical Units. Section 8070 Resistance Unit. Section 8190 Armature. No part lists issued. (6) Rear Brake Equaliser. (A few parts are held up.) (7) Frames & Fittings. (A few parts are held up. Hy.{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer} said would be released to-day.) (8) Front Brake Equaliser. Section 7040. (A few parts are held up.) | ||
