To R.{Sir Henry Royce} From Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. to Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} c. to E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} c. to Hdy.{William Hardy} By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} "PEREGRINE". One of these chassis is now completed and we expect to have it running on the road with the test kit today. After we broke the crankshaft on the original unit the only unit we had left was one intended for the car and as there was a programme arranged for completing the car by the end of this month it was agreed that this should go forward rather than rod it of the engine for the test bed. We expect to have the test bed unit running again tomorrow and we shall then proceed with blower tests. We consider it may take a little time before we are in a position to recommend either the front drive or the side blower drive. We know that both position can be made to work but the relative merits of each scheme will take time to arrive at. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
