1110 Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/NRC.{N. R. Chandler}11/JH. 23rd November, 1937. Messrs. Borg & Beck Co.Ltd., Tachbrook Road, Leamington Spa. For the attention of Mr. Armitage. Dear Sirs, With reference to the conference held at Derby on the subject of thrust springs we would be glad to know if the new spring you proposed has been developed and whether you are able to fit it to the 142 10" clutches on order, or failing this, if you feel reasonably confident you can fit Brown springs which will maintain at least 150 lbs. We would also be interested to know whether any results have been obtained to determine the extent of "setting" of a spring continuously under load, as mentioned by Mr. Young and your good selves. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
