To RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls}3/KW.3.2.36. 32-EX. While this car is in the fitting shop will you please carry out the following modifications :- Chassis. (1) Mount the body on rubber. (2) Fit Autolock front damper valves to N.Sch.4520. (3) Carry out the steering modifications requested in Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/FJH.{Fred J. Hardy - Chief Dev. Engineer}11/KW.13.12.35. (4) Examine the side steering tube. This at the moment has excessive slack. (5) Fit LeC.4739 to prevent the front brakes going on when the car is on full rebound. (6) Examine the rear axle which has become noisy at low speeds, and also let us have a figure for the present slack, reducing this if necessary to a maximum of 1°. (7) Modify the horn button, if necessary fitting new contact points. (8) Jacks - pipe lines as at present fitted. New set of Jacks to be fitted: these will be supplied by Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Bwg.{J. C. Bowring} Smith's hand pump to be fitted, also to be supplied by Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Bwg.{J. C. Bowring} It will be necessary to have a trap door in floorboards through which to operate pump. New pair of rear jack brackets to be fitted with keyway cut to set brackets back 6° to make up for torque on axle. Please have engine driven pump removed and original timing case fitted. | ||
