-2- Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls}3/KW.3.2.36. Gearbox. (1) The side shaft needs attention as it is now very noisy. (2) Counterbore the second speed sliding piece to Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}61. (3) Fit strengthened third speed gear to N.Sch.4734. (4) Cure ticking noise in top gear, which we believe to be due to the operating stirrup. (5) Examine top and third sliding pieces, which we believe to be unnecessarily slack. Engine. (1) Prevent water leaks from the cylinder block. (2) Fit insulation washer between the carburettor and induction system, Rs.{Sir Henry Royce's Secretary}104. (3) Oil metering plugs on tappets to LeC.4900. (4) Gauze tappet filter, LeC.4834. (5) Insulated inlet spark plug covers. (6) Marine type connecting rods with white metal bearings. (7) Provide us with a figure for the present main bearing clearance, and if this is more than the original amount, fit new bearings. (8) Replace the existing heavy flywheel with one of the shape of N.Sch.4229, but of course having latest splines and oilite bushes. (9) Clutch driven plate to Borg & Beck drawing EX.44. (10) Bijur metering plug, size Z800 in the feed to the clutch outboard ball bearing. (11) Mx.{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} type pistons E.87810, with slotted scraper rings. (12) Retaining device for plunger valve locking ring on tappets to LeC.4885. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Gry{Shadwell Grylls} . | ||
