Dear Sirs,
We thank you for your letter of the 8th January, and must apologize for the delay in our reply, owing to the unfortunate disorganisations which have recently occurred through the illness of many members of our Staff.
We trust you have been put to no inconvenience, and give you our advice as follows.
For the valve body we would recommend our standard Gun Metal, which we supply for steam pressures up to 250 lbs per sq.inch, temperatures up to 500oF. In view of the very low working pressure of 10 lbs per sq.inch which you are contemplating, you will see that these Valves will have a generous margin of strength, and complete immunity to distortion.
The Valve and Seat would be in our 'Platnam' metal which is an extremely hard non-corrodible material, with exceptional lasting qualities, and obtains its natural hardness without heat treatment or any other process.
