With reference to R1/M14.4.32. my recollection of the "Coronation Rattles" is that they were cured by the fixing of the damped spring coupling. True, the removal of the central brake drum removed transmission groan periods, but they were of a different species. The later Silver Ghosts suffered from "Coronation rattles" (solid engine coupling) and was cured by the fixing of the fabric coupling between the engine and gear box.
