EXPERIMENTAL CARS.

We have now received 16-G4. from West WitteringHenry Royce's home town.
The Japan 1 engine from this chassis is to be used for the first Bensport car.

We have no further use for the chassis and propose handing it over to the Repair Dept. to be put into a saleable condition. We shall hand the chassis over with no engine fitted and will supply a China engine suitable for the chassis.

The chassis is fitted up with a synchro-mesh gearbox and we think it should be sold with one fitted rather than go to the expense of refitting all the necessary parts to suit the old type gearbox. The synchro-mesh gearbox needs only minor modifications to bring it up to production standard.

Both body and chassis are in a very good condition. The latest split piston type of shock dampers are fitted all round and centralised chassis lubrication is fitted.

It is not, however, fitted with the present standard lowered radiator, wide dashboard, or diamond engine mounting. The engine mounting fitted gives the same effect as diamond engine mounting, having a 'Y' bracket rear suspension, and soft Diabolo rear engine feet rubbers. It only differs from standard in respect of the parts which are fitted to suit the radiator suspension.

The engine which we shall supply is in fairly good condition but requires stripping for examination. It is fitted with present standard camshaft, cylinder head, pistons, and valve gear. The crankshaft (E.55307) is not the latest but has 2 1/4" journals and 1 3/4" crank pins, it is not fitted with balance weights. We recommend that this should be left in. The rear axle ratio is 12/50 this should be altered to standard 11/50.
