Self-adjusting tappets. Certain re-designing in hand. Modified front axle also in hand. HsB/W.24.3.33. states it is expected to have J.III on the road fitted with these tappets this week. Also, it is found that we can make modified front axle out of existing forging, and one is being produced and should be completed in about two weeks. HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/HP.27.3.33. states that apart from the automatically adjusted tappets we have no design work to do at the moment until further reports are made by the Exp. Dept. With regard to the tappets, we are incorporating the modifications suggested to overcome the faults which have arisen during experimental test. With regard to the modified front axle, this we understand from Hy.{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer} is all instructed to the V.W. scheme. | ||
