FROM DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} C. to HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} ORIGINAL DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}3/M3.7.28. 20HP. WHEEL ARCH CLEARANCE. X615 X5820 X5810 Owing to complaints that the wheel arch clearance on the 20HP. was excessive with 5¼" medium pressure tyres, we have set out on N. sch. 2643. (herewith) the wheel clearance we suggest. We would be glad if Derby would make tests to confirm these clearances as soon as possible. In the meantime if Derby will send us one extra print of this drawing we will ask Hooper's, who are personally interested, to make tests, so that we may have the information as quickly as possible. We have previously pointed out that we think it impossible for us to get a 4½" bump from full load on the 20HP., and if we assume the same compression of rubber as was originally assumed on the Phantom we think the bump will be 4.4". It is this bump that we are anxious for Derby to confirm. DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} | ||
