To By.{R.W. We recently issued a Standardisation Sheet, X.No.5370, for various improvements on the 20/25 servo, amongst which was the crinkly plate modification to GL.{G. Linnett}713. This completed 15,000 miles successfully in France but since this date we have had two failures on experimental cars with similar pieces. We admit these pieces have not been treated normally as they have been dismantled and re-erected a number of times, and also the test to which they were subjected was somewhat barbaric. In spite of this, however, we do not feel that we are justified in taking a chance on this particular feature, and therefore wish to delete it for the time being from the modifications. The other features, namely, the fully floating fabrics, outboard ball bearing, VM.30 linings, and 25° cams, remain unaltered. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
