-2- Gear No.2. (a) Built up with 0.700 lead cam with 0.002" crowning, standard bearings. Roller F.87682 with ball bearings. Both 8.250" and 9.437" pendulum levers. (b) Built up with the same cam and roller as (a) but with rockershaft to F.60993 modified to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}2071 and needle bearing race to F.87381, 0.775" long instead of 0.824" long. (c) Built up with 0.700" lead cam F.60995, 0.002" crowning, Timken bearings. Roller F.87900 with Timken bearings in same rockershaft as in (b). The internal shoulder on the housings F.60834 of both gears will have to be machined off so that the bore is 1.450" right through in order that the stiffer rockershafts can be fitted. We have assumed that it will be possible for G.W.H. to change the rollers on the rockershafts so that it will not be necessary to send a rockershaft for every roller, but we suggest that every cam should have its own steering tube. Will you please make the necessary parts, and determine the settings of the gears. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/F.J.Hardy. | ||
