21st April, 1937.

English Steel Corporation Ltd.,
Grimesthorpe Works,
SHEFFIELD.

For the Attention of Mr. Gray.

Dear Sir,

Mr. Webster requested that I should return to you the FW.754 road spring which failed on our bumper test after 18 hours.

We expect to get at least 50 hours' life from our springs. An identical Firth's spring has exceeded 50 hours. No doubt you will let us have a report on the broken spring.

Although we have lost a good deal of interest in your springs, since they are more expensive than the Firth's article, we should like to have the pair of Bentley Springs, which by now are long overdue.

Yours faithfully,

For ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.
