X.1819. BATTERY IGNITION CONTACT BREAKER CAMS X.5690
HARDENED BY "CLOUDBURST" PROCESS. X.7690

We have had six of these cams on test for a considerable time, four on experimental chassis and two on our laboratory test rig. These have now been removed and returned to us for inspection and the following is the text of my assistant's report :-

"The two tested in the laboratory were run an equivalent of 20,000 miles on our bench rig with very satisfactory results, the wear being negligible. Slight score marks were visible on the lobes but these were not deep.

The four run on experimental chassis have done a considerable mileage, on chassis

18-EX (with R.{Sir Henry Royce} mileage not known)
19-EX 13,500 miles
22-EX 10,500 miles
23-EX 16,800 miles.

The three cams from 19-EX, 22-EX and 23-EX have now been removed and examined."

We are handing all four cams to you for your inspection and you will note their generally very good condition.
