The condition of a starter motor, battery, stop lamp switch, and ignition system.

| -2- STARTER MOTOR - continued. There appeared to be some obstruction, like grit in the epicyclic gears Generally the condition of the Motor was good. BATTERY(TYPE DAGENITE 6EQ9-30.) This unit travelled 20,016 miles on B-56-BN.{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} in addition to which it had previously run 67,703 miles Total mileage run 87,719 apart from the bitumen cracking at the ends of the container nearthe securing lugs it was found to be alright. STOP-LAMP SWITCH. The original switch fitted failed as the result of the insulation charring and breaking down to earth. This switch was repaired by scraping away faulty insulation,and again put into service on another car. A new switch was fitted and this also failed. On examination it was found that in this case one of the spring contact blades had broken off. IGNITION. The whole of the ignition system,including coils H.T.cables,distributor,condenser,contract breaker plugs,and conduits, was found to be in a satisfactory condition. | ||
