BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} X3426 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}7/LG25. 9.22. X.3426 - 40/50 GEAR BOX. RE GRINDING OF GEARS. We suggest that when we adopt the ground gears for the 1st. speed and reverse on the 40/50, that we ought to go the whole way and try out ground gears for the side shaft. If we can get satisfactory ground gears for the side shaft we ought to be able to overcome the complaint we have frequently of the rattle from the slack side shaft. It is only reasonable that if we have ground side shaft gears on the Goshawk, to adopt them on the 40/50. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
