fitted with F.W.B. running on the road about the
middle of April;

In this connection it should be remembered that we shall not
deliver all the current type chassis to Sales until about the
18th. or a little later, in April.

Obviously if we are going to have, and I believe we
can, an 'India' chassis fitted with F.W.B. by the middle of
April, we shall know a good deal by that time about the
difficulties of F.W.B. and 'India' chassis.

Therefore I suggest it might be wise not to go on with
the 10,000 miles test with 'India' chassis, but wait until the
middle of April and run 10,000 miles with F.W.B. then.

I think it possible that Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} might be able to give his
O.K. by some time in June. In any case I think it is well worth
while making a desperate effort, owing to our position, to do so.

You will see from the foregoing that I am in favour
of attempting a complete chassis fitted with F.W.B. rather than
two upsets, providing that it can be made to fit in with Sales'
difficulties.

In any case the policy I suggest above would not
interfere with altering our views and issuing the 'India' chassis
without F.W.B. providing we find difficulties with F.W.B., because
from your memo we shall not announce any new chassis until you
have got further with sales and deliveries of current type, which
might be some time in May or even June, and we should know a lot
about F.W.B. by that time, and the policy could be more
definitely decided then.
