Objections to fitting larger section tyres and a new standardisation for 20-inch rims.

-2- (7) They make the rear seat width 1" less at the top of the wheel arch and 2" at the bottom. In view of these objections, we think that customers should be discouraged from fitting tyres of larger section than our standard, and that such a modification should be an extra for the reasons given. It is not reasonable, however, for us to cause such inconvenience to Messrs. Dunlops by making them continue to give us a non-Fort tyre and yet allow other manufacturers to supply Fort tyres for the same chassis. We are circulating a standardisation sheet for the 20" rims and when this comes on production we should be able to fit Fort tyres, as the outside diameter of this wheel with a Fort tyre will be less than our present standard.
