H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} MATTHES SPEZIAL-UNTERNEHMEN für TROCKENEIS (CO2)-GERÄTE Tel. B-53 7-47 u. R-54-7-48 Wien III, den Rennweg 46/9 Rolls-Royce Ltd., Nightingale Rd., Derby, Re: Non-dazzling Headlight " Intensive " Gentlemen, Permit me to state the following: I have constructed an absolutely non-dazzling headlight whose automatically directed light-beam precedes the new direction a car takes in going round a corner. This headlight uses only one ordinary bulb and gives off an intensive light immediately infront of the car as well as far ahead. For your information I beg to state that I am not an outsider in this field but an expert who has been for years managing director in a firm manufacturing electrical appliances known the world-over. You therefore may rest assured that you are not giving your time uselessly to the study of some fantastic construction but you will find that this is a functionally as well as constructively absolutely reliable construction whose manufacture is simple. Kindly note enclosed description.- I would like to know whether you are principally interested in this matter. In case you are not manufacturing your own headlights would you be kind enough to pass this matter on to the firm who is manufacturing them for you ? For the manufacturing rights I ask a royalty per unit of 10% of the selling price. Considerable rebates would be granted should sales be substantial.- Upon perfection of an agreement I expect appropriate prepayment of royalties in order to be convinced of your interest in this matter. Trusting to hear from you before long, I am, gentlemen, very truly yours [Handwritten Annotations]: Top Right: Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/W.S.T. Top Right: July 22nd 1935 Top Right: L6116.
