x4522 791 To JLE.{J. Lee Evans - Chassis Test Manager} from Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}2/KW.8.12.34. Chassis No. B-11-BN.{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} Fairey. Replying to LE8/C.7.12.34. We realise that Mr. Fairey's bumper bar is rather closer to the starting handle than we should like, and the model bumper bar which is being prepared by Messrs. Wilmot-Breeden is moved forward 1/2" more than this original stabilizer. We do not know what your experience is with regard to starting the Bentley when the starter motor fails, but we query whether people swing the car, as it is very difficult to do this. If they start by pulling up a great deal of room is not required. Anyhow, you will have an opportunity of criticising the recommended bumper bar next week.
