(16) Cooling System - continued

(e) Bonnet - side plates to be fitted with standard type bonnet shutters but to be in present .080 gauge material. New top plates in .080 material with improved finish.
(f) Thermometers - (a) Special dash thermometer supplied by Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std. to be fitted with bulb in union at front of B. side head, replacing existing dash thermometer. (b) Negretti & Zambra thermometer supplied by Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std. to be fitted with bulb in top tank as at present. (c) Negretti & Zambra thermometer supplied by Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std to be fitted in main oil line to bearings as near relief valve as possible. (d) Pressure gauge at present fitted to Radiator to be retained.

(g) Water Pump

(1) Thrust pad scheme to Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}123 to be fitted if possible.
(2) Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}434 locking scheme to befitted to prevent drain cock opening itself (this has occurred once) and taper of drain cock to be re-lapped.
(3) Palmetto gland packings to be fitted.

Whilst the car is having the above work carried out, the following should also be done:-

(1) Liners should be removed from crankcase and latter examined for corrosion ( Ditto cyl. heads)
(2) While top tank is removed, matrix should be examined for blockage.
(3) Water leak on rear end cover of A.{Mr Adams} side cyl. head should be cured.
