RE 20 H.P. WHEELCASE.
X.3551

We send you herewith drawing No. LeC.1140 shewing the revised 20 H.P. wheelcase.

The centre line of the camshaft drive has been moved back towards the cylinders approximately .3". We would draw your attention to the slight alteration to the lubrication of forward bearing of the spring drive, also to the fact that we have shortened the rear bearing which carries the crankshaft pinion. We find hat the pressure on this bush will be very light in the normal way, and we do not expect any movement on these bearing surfaces when the engine is being started up, in which case the pressure would be increased by the starting effort.

Would you kindly put in hand the necessary work to this drawing. We do not expect to send any further information to you in respect to the wheelcase.

In connection with the crankcase, we shall shortly send a view of the oil retaining cover for the rear main bearing, and the cradle for the starter motor. We shall also send particulars of the fixing for the starter clutch operation gear.

E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer}
