Petrol Gauge - Reference BY/Mtnl/H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints}

QUOTATION.

Referring to my call on you on the 20th ult I am prepared to supply my patented petrol gauge as per sample recently submitted at the following prices:-

Orders of 100................ 3/3d. each.
" " 250................ 3/3d. "
" " 500................ 3/- "

d/d your Works. nett monthly a/c.

These gauges would have a screwed & milled top ready for inserting in your caps. The frame of the gauge would be in brass, the gauze would be in brass or copper. I hope to quote you shortly for these in Monel metal.

As regards your making these on licence, so far as I can see I would be prepared to grant you a licence under certain conditions.

The following are roughly my ideas:-

(1). Royalty of one shilling and ninepence (1/9d) to be paid to me for each gauge manufactured by you.
(2). The gauges to be manufactured by you only for your own cars.
(3). That at no time will you dispute the validity of my patent or patents.
(4). A complete and clear record of gauges manufactured by you to be kept, either from your shop orders or any suitable method to be agreed upon. This record to be available for inspection by me or my nominee at any reasonable time.
