18-EX., so one thinks it is not serious because brakes are used very suddenly here. However it makes one think that more oil is wanted, as the oil is driven forward so that only the front two diaphragms need closing to the minimum - perhaps only the one just in front of the filter.

Then the other actions of the oil would be less interfered with, and we should only have one smaller hole to get stopped.

Strictly speaking of course the filter should go back and leave the opening where it is now.

I agree that we could increase the quantity of oil as you suggest.

(Mr. Minchin quite believed that his 20HP. ran better with another half gallon of oil in the sump, and left here in that condition.)

I am inclined to think that perhaps we shall have to get the opening to the filter near the diaphragm. Test turned round and climb some of the worst hills we can find, especially with some addition to the oil. There seems little fear of trouble.
