87840. To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} re Weight of 40/50 HP Chassis. Copy to Cm. Wer. Div. Thanks for Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}2/MJ.19.1.33, and for your schedule. On looking at this I see that you only go back to "N.2" Series whereas the figures I gave you went back to "M" Series. The figures we gave which are based on EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}'s chassis weights show a difference between "N.2" Series and "O.2" Series Continental of 170 lbs. Your schedule shows a difference of 126 lbs., but even then you have credited 17 lbs. for Hartford dampers, 5 lbs. for Auto Klean and 18 lbs. for Diamond engine mounting, all of which of course were also on "N.2", so that it brings your difference down to 86, and I am only taking the matter up again with you because of the large discrepancy between EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}'s figure and yours, i.e. over half a cwt. I am pleased to note that you are keeping a note of all the increases with a view to getting the weight down wherever possible. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} F.D.
