We send you herewith PD.175 showing the bodies for Bentley lll and Bentley 50, and on the designs in red are shown sundry modifications suggested chiefly by Sales. Dealing with the Bentley lll we show the latest Park Ward standardised Bentley 11 body for comparison purposes, and above it the Bentley lll with the modernised Bentley 11 wing added. We also show the rear of the body increased in width at the elbow line to that of the Jaguar 56 1/2". We show also the effect of narrowing the radiator 1/2". On Bentley 50 the same modifications apply. It will be noted that, measuring the width of the bonnets of the various cars at a corresponding position in each case, the Bentley lll bonnet is 2 1/2" wider than the Bentley 11 and the Bentley 50 4". As it is desirable, we understand, to have no O.G. curve on the scuttle of any of these cars, it will be necessary in order to keep bonnet interchangeability to fit the Bentley 50 bonnet to the Bentley lll, and this we are proposing to do on 3.B.5. We cannot do it on 2-B.5 as the body has been constructed. This drawing PD.175 was that shown to the Conference at Derby on the 10th inst.
