To CWB. from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} X8990 X.8990 X8005 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}7/LG12.3.26. With reference to the attached correspondence from Pt. Spare wheel carriers. We assume from the report that it is the spare wheel carrier on the side of the frame, and not the rear one which is giving trouble. We have already stiffened up the bolts on the spare wheel carrier. We do not know how to make the carriers sufficiently strong if the weight of the wheel is not carried on the running board. We do not think there is sufficient definite information in the complaint on spare wheel carriers for us to take any action. Front engine suspension. X8005 This is the first case we have heard of failure on the road. Cars have been run for hundreds of hours on the bumping rig, and also thousands of miles on Continental roads without failure. We should be interested to have sketches to show exactly where the tubes have been bent and where the lugs failed. Bumpers. Bumpers are a standard fitting on R-R cars made in America. We would recommend that if there is a demand for bumpers we should get R-R Inc. to supply them with the necessary fittings to suit our chassis. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
