We quite agree, but cannot see how one is to recuperate cost of this work from the customer. It is hardly his fault, don't you think, if his crank pins and journals have to be drilled for extra lubrication.

This will most probably apply more often to our cars under Continental conditions, than to cars in England. To reduce the cost to the Company, we will always endeavour to work it in with an R.20, whenever possible.

Same applies here as to the 3 I/2 litre secondhand cars. We always make allowance, when trading in a car, for re-conditioning it in our trade in price.

I should like to add that, undoubtedly, in the near future, we are going to have to attend to quite a few 4 1/4 Litre cars, under "D" of page 4 of RmI/R.7.7.37, and we should be pleased to receive, as soon as possible, more information concerning the latest standardised AC.2 alloy. By this I mean when it will be available, etc... Several of our 4 1/4 Litre Bentleys are getting very rough and, having already been stepped, we would have no other alternative than to replace the bearings.
