X 6019 EFC7/AD. 6th March, 1931. X.6019 X.6098. Messrs. North & Sons, Ltd. Whippendell Rd. Watford. Dear Sirs, Your Mr. Allen will recollect that some time back when discussing with ourselves the question of magneto primary windings, we put forward the suggestion that this might be carried out with wire of square or rectangular section in order to provide the superior space factor. Recently, we had occasion to dismantle for examination an M.L. (Morris Lister) type X.12 ignition coil in which, for the primary winding, enamelled wire of rectangular section had been adopted. We thought this fact might be of some interest to you in connection with the adoption of a similar idea on magnetos for the improvement of low speed running on the basis which we have from time to time explained. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
